63,180 lbs of hair clippings, 42,122 lbs of hair color, 109,512 lbs of foil and color tubes, and 206, 392 lbs of wastepaper, salon bottles, and other paper and plastic items – that’s the amount of waste being tossed out by hair salons across North America EVERY SINGLE DAY; that’s a whopping total of 421,206 lbs of trash!
As a Green Circle Certified Salon, we are proud to share that we are a part of a comprehensive recycling and sustainability program that sets out to significantly reduce our industry’s environmental impact on the planet by up to 95%!! We continue to partner with our local recycling program for all the items they take, and now, all the items that went down the drain or in the trash will be getting repurposed!
A $2 Eco Fee per SERVICE TICKET assists us in shipping and the special processing of the materials by our partners. This enables us to recycle 95% of our waste. We will continue to use our local recycling program for everything that they process, Green Circle takes it up level by being able to recycle all the items that either went down the drain or into the trash.
